Testimonals
"As a school psychologist I have worked with Larry Thompson at Youthville and Hesston High School. Larry has implemented one of the few district wide behavior management programs that I have observed in the past 29 years that actually works."
Randy Zohn M.S., NCSP
"Larry places the student at the heart of every presentation. Those in attendance walk away with practical applications to use immediately in their classrooms. You will walk away refreshed and feel great about the role you can play in the lives of students!"
Amy Wagoner - Principal - Holy Cross
"Larry Thompson's discipline system has changed our school culture. Our office referrals are down by 50 percent and I am having the best conversations about discipline with students and parents since I became a principal."
Keith Hall - Principal - Stockton High

RTI/MTSS Response to intervention (RTI) and Multi tiered system of support (MTSS). Responding to student data and creating a systematic method to increase student achievement is a cornerstone for most all school districts. Your region of the country will have something to do with which term you are more familiar with, but they are both focusing on the same goal.Effective School Discipline was started in Kansas and the term Kansas uses is MTSS. It has been a long held belief in the design of (ESD) that schools must have systems in place and respond to student discipline issues and behaviors much like we do to students academic issues or deficits. A key to RTI and MTSS is that the first level must be done for all students. This is why a school wide system for how teachers deal with discipline must be in place. (ESD) can do that for your building and results will begin to happen for all students. The second tier is also built into the process of (ESD) and the systematic approach helps all staff become consistent and effective with student discipline.Tier three is discussed and examples given in the training, although we know the situations will take some unique solutions due to their unique issues that the child has been involved with. This school discipline program is effective and meets the goals for MTSS and RTI. Schools desiring to move into this process can be greatly supported by this program. |
